This document outlines Dartmouth's institutional academic honor principle and provides links to each degree program's associated policy and process. The principle was adopted by vote of the General Faculty on October 16, 2023, and was subsequently ratified by votes of the four faculties. This principle, and associated policies set by the four faculties, replaces the Academic Honor Principle of 1962.
Academic integrity is foundational to a Dartmouth education. All members of the Dartmouth community—faculty, staff, and students—are responsible for maintaining a culture of integrity, honesty, and respect in teaching, learning, scholarship, and creative work.
By upholding this principle, we foster an atmosphere of intellectual growth and personal development both within and beyond Dartmouth.
